School created websites are very helpful for accessing information such as school calendars, district policies, staff information and community connections. I personally access my school's website for this type of information. It is a quick guide to look up phone numbers, important dates and upcoming events in our school. I find that my particular school-website is informative for general information, but also provides links to teacher-created sites that have specific information such as activities or worksheets based on the curriculum and class.
Not all school sites have this option available. In certain instances where this is not offered, perhaps this strategy of creating a section on the main page is an easy way of connecting school-created and teacher-created sites.
